Some of My Favorite Local Comedians
February 10, 2011I have had the great pleasure of working with some great comics and entertainers here in New Orleans. New Orleans is a great city and surrounded by very talented people. From the five-year-old “Coke Bottle Tap Dancers” in the French Quarter, to Grammy award winning jazz musician Allen Toussaint, in my mind, New Orleans is the Entertainer’s Capital of the World!
Here are some of my favorite local comedians:
Nature Boy
Nature Boy is a New Orleans home grown favorite. He’s been doing comedy for a few years now and has also taken up acting. You can see glimpses of him in big Momma’s House two. Nature boy has toured around the country, as well as performing locally here in New Orleans. His style is very clean cut, nothing derogatory. It’s just about life. He also does impressions, and he is one to make sure that you don’t miss.

Carrey B.
Carrey B. is a New Orleans comic with a style all his own, just like gumbo, there is a little something for everyone. Carrey B has had the good fortune of opening for such artists as Rickey Smiley, Bruce Bruce. Cedric The Entertainer, Earthquake, Sinbad, Eddie Griffin, Arnez J, Mark Curry, Cheryl Underwood, The Isley Brothers and Pattie Labelle to name a few. He’s worked comedy clubs such as The Funny Bone and the Comedy Showcase. He’s been seen on BET’s Comic View, and has been featured in sevral movies the latest being Jeremy’s Family Reunion staring (Tom Joyners) Ms Dupre and Wonderful World with Matthew Broderick where he’s playing a comedian in the movie. He is also the creator of a very popular comedy show in New Orleans called Comedy Catfish and Cornbread.
